How To Open A Keg ???

Well I have been on the lookout for a keg on eBay for the past few months, and just the other day, I was in the car with my dad and I saw one fall off the back of a truck!! (What LUCK).
I don't have a tap kit, and the keg is full!
Any IDEAS on how to open it, releasing the pressure and the beer (into another container of course).
I thought about DRILLING a hole in the top of the keg, but my friends told me that, that would not be the best idea that I have come up with!
Would it be ok if i drilled it??
Help would be greatly apprecitied

I would recommend against drilling, unless you want a shower of ale everywhere. Those things are highly pressurized, so clear of getting a tap kit, you're pretty much SOL. Now, I could be wrong, but in all my dealings with kegs, a tap kit was very much necessary. IIRC they're only about 10-15 bucks.

It would probably be possible to build a tap kit out of standard plumbing parts, as long as you know what you need to do so. But if a tap kit is only 15 or 20 bucks, you're probably better off just buying one.

I didn't stop howling for a good five minutes after I read your post... opening a can of shaving cream with an axe.... dear god almighty, that's absolutely freaking hilarious!!! I'm just imagining this shower of shaving cream everywhere and this silhouette of a person cut out of it, and a poor applefritterer totally covered from head to toe holding an axe wondering what the hell he was thinking... wow, that's a hell of a great image  Damn dude, way to go
As to the keg, def don't drill it, the metal shavings would go down into the beer, and then everyone would be wondering who's got the cup with metal in it.

Yesterday, I took a large cotton makeup pad from my mon's drawer (it was just sitting next to the isopropol alcohol), soaked it in isopropol, and tried to throw it into the fire. It lit, but was still in my hand. I dropped it and was amazed to find that my hand was not burned. Then I lit three matches, held them together about 4-5 inches from a can of Axe deodorant and sprayed the axe. It made a blue flame about 18in long! Fun stuff, aerosol deodorant.

I dont know if its appropriate but..
a group of friends in grade 8 at my old school were playing with some Axe and a lighter... just dont spray axe where you don't want to be kicked and light a match
