i couldnt be bothered to buy one so i just uploaded the background to my webspace then fetched it through WAP on my phone ... it works just fine

yeah ... the image was a GIF ... any GIF should work ... AFAIK BMPs also works though i havent tried them ... my phone dosen't seem to support JPEGs ... but most camera/MMS phones should ...
i just typed the address into the "Go to Address" box in my phone, hit connect ... and then saved the image to my phone
have you set up your WAP so you can use it normally ... sometimes it isnt set up by default ...

It is wap enbled, it is on the TELSTRA network, and the model is a 6610!
I have no idea what the problem is!
