Differences in Rev. A //e motherboard

A friend just gave me an old //e that had been sitting in her garage for a couple of decades. It has the older white keyboard and an "A" revision motherboard. (And it has a populated Ramworks II card in it, so...score!)

It seems to work fine with a standard //e enhancement kit. Aside from the purported lack of double hires graphics, are there any drawbacks to the Rev. A motherboard?

Re: Differences in Rev. A //e motherboard

If you read Wikipedia's entry on the iie, you will see that you might actually have a revision B motherboard.

It says, "In later years Apple labeled newer IIe motherboards with a "-A" suffix once again, although in functionality they were Revision B motherboards."

You said that you put an enhancement kit on it.

Here's more from Wikipedia on the revision A motherboard:

The logic board is not compatible with the ROM based firmware update (introduced some years later) and most newer plug in expansion slot cards.

The word "firmware" is not described in that article until it mentions the enhanced iie.

I guess I have a Rev B motherboard then, since it seems to work fine with the standard //e enhancement kit...
