Good evening All,
I've been rather busy with some family and personal matters, but
I have been trying to keep up with all the shenanigans on eBay and elsewhere.
Some $1200.00 IIe units.
Some $999.00 IIe units.
Some $500.00 + IIc units.
Some $1k + II Pus units.
Parts and cards going for prices that are unheard of.
It makes me (almost) want to sell my Mountain Expansion Chassis... Not! lol
I just do not understand the guy who is selling the one unit with the "Hand Written" MB Serial Number.
Who is he trying to fool?
$1600.00 for a IIc with LCD Screen??
I could see $450.00 to $500.00 (maybe).
Ahhh.
Nice to be back!
Steven
I don't get it either, as almost all of the apple II plus motherboards had hand written date codes on them.
I think he is just trying to come off as knowledgeable... even though his claims just makes him sound ridiculous lol.
you may choose between two options:
make your cross in the circle:
O this seller is just a stupid guy with no knowledge about history and item
O this guy is like the armenian carpetdealer hunting for a stupid tourist to cheat with overpriced item
in some cases i´d coose second option....
in most cases i´d prefer to select first option.... specially the bunches from estate sales and
small agencies/resellers...
speedyG
Amazing!.....

The pics of the Mini Manual I was supposed to provide some time ago... had to dig it out of storage.

Sean!!!
You found my unit's long lost brother! LOL
Very Nice looking unit.
Not planning on getting rid of it any time soon are you?
Speedy,
I'll place half an "X" in both circles. lol
Steven
Jim,
It gets wierder (more weird?) out there, let me tell you. LOL
The guy with the $2500.00 II Plus that swears there is no other like it in the world
(I believe he had it at $5000.00 to start with)
The $11,000.00 Mac II FX (now $10,500.00)
Oh Yeah! You ain't seen nuthin' yet. (BTO)
Steven
If the offer was good enough, maybe.
Sean,
Oh No!
Not me. lol
One is enough.
I have mine safely tucked away.
I will pull it out and finally use it some day.
I spent enough time with everyone up here getting it
repaired and operable.
Steven
Now here is a Doozy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/STEVE-JOBS-WOZNIAC-SIGNED-APPLE-COMPUTER-MOUSES-AUTOGRAPH-IN-PERSON-COA-LOA-/262047500572?hash=item3d033f891c
Is this person for real?
Steven
Evening All,
Then there is the person who is trying to sell a IIe for $975.00.
I wrote him/her an email asking if they knew they were trying to get over 9 times what it is worth?
The reply was a special offer just for me...$974.99.
So not only are they overpriced (by a gazillion), but
they are also smartasses.
A nice way to end an evening of looking at overpriced listings on eBay.
Steven
LOL! That cent saved clearly makes it worth the money... Oh wait.
That's the kind of smartass thing I would do if we were talking in person!!
I made them an offer of $100, we'll see what happens.
Zan
Good evening all,
Talk about your overpriced IIc units, here's another:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331656066150?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
No "Best Offer" or anything.
He'll be relisting it in a week or so.
Steven
Warning!
Watch out for this Seller spacelyscomputeremporium.
He purposely stopped this auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-with-original-accessories-/281795633926?ssPageName=ADME%3AX%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1123&nma=true&si=xs3PBqBojsxaxKyz%252FT4vK58tP4I%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
and tried to tailor the deal with a potential bidder.
I was the potential bidder and all I did was ask a simple shipping question.
Be careful dealing with this guy.
Steven
Two new items to wonder at:
A Mac SE:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121761421338?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
and a "New in the Box" IIe:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181872798017?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
What is wrong in these pictures?
Welcome to Scam City ladies and gents.
Steven
Is the guy smiling because he does not recognize his stupidness ?
starting with the titelline i won´t waste my time on the rst of the text....
It reminds me to a joke:
In the beginning of days god stood on the mountain pouring his gifts among creatures....
and the god said:
i´m now pouring brain among you creatures....
some had umbrellas... this guy had a very big umbrella....
LOL

Georgel,
I had the same reaction when I seen it.
And if you look just below it, there is an Apple IIc MB in the box (refurbished) for $40.00.
Speedy,
He has taken the original down (before it was due)
and relisted it, but for the same price.
HELLO!!!
Is anyone out there stupid enough to pay $300.00
for a regular 64k IIe in a Platinum Box???
Steven
Steven,
What sub model is that? I haven't seen a iie looking like that with the keyboard and writing. Can you shed some light on it?
Thanks Samm
That is the final revision of the iie called the platinum iie. Look it up on Wikipedia.
Platinum IIe
Steven
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271997424314
Believed to contain the actual air that was once quite near to an Apple II.
Oh ... that's really sad!
Not a Warhol or Dalia. But the price is up there. Not even free shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Wood-Apple-Computer-Sign-Original-80s-Rainbow-Apple-Store-Logo-Poster-/331665062997?hash=item4d38c73c55
This (http://www.ebay.com/itm/201437061838) has finally sold.
I'd love to know how much it went for in the end.
On my screen it shows $12,500 in a marked out format... Wasn't it originally $16,000? Does that mean it actually sold for $12,500?!
I don't think so. I think it was very recently re-listed at $12,500. I think when a best offer is accepted, it shows the original listed price – you don't get to see the accepted price.
The problem I had with the $12,500.00 Apple II was the Serial Number (1962)
I seem to remember this unit being sold on several occasions over the past two years.
I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
Steven
Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
I present to you..."The Sleeve":
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Commodore-64-128-ATARI-400-800-Apple-II-INFOCOM-Software-Game-Jacket-/131614973279?hash=item1ea4dd1d5f
Please notice the invisible disk.
This sleeve is suitable for framing by the way.
Steven
Hi Steven. You are correct. I've seen this one offered at least 3 times. The first was a charity auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Early-Production-Apple-II-Computer-1977-era-Serial-A2S1-1962-Motherboard-2234-/251915715865?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa758c519
Where it sold for $7800.00.
Whoever purchased it apparently then tried to sell it a number of times before it finally sold for an unknown best offer.
Jennifer
No, no, no! You missed the point! You are paying FOR the invisible disk.
Jennifer
Well... I chose to believe that it was used with an Apple I, before the Apple II and is worth at least Four times that..
Who's going to contradict me??? Not the Seller...
MarkO
Good evening all,
I don't know if anyone else has noticed,
but there seems to be a lot of IIe's up for auction on eBay.
The problem is that they are trying to get more than $100.00 each for them.
The IIe is the most plentiful II out there.
Why do these folks think that they are so "Rare"?
No links tonight.
Just some random thoughts.
Steven
Good Morning All,
He's Back!:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/272005796139?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
And now the $1,000.00 Cassette Tape:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111787607121?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Would you pay $250.00 for this II Plus?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181892864166?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I wonder if he would take $50.00?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131619247697?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Just a few from this mornings look at eBay.
Steven
You're even more generous than I... I be thinking something like $25.
IIRC, this one started at $15,000.00... And has now been removed by the seller...
Any Bets on how many more EBay Listings will pass before it's purchased??? I will go with...... 7!
It's now at $9.99 with one Bid...
Someone got the //c Reference Manual with a Best Offer....
MarkO
Did anyone see this??? Was doing a search last night and it showed up. By the time I clicked on it (about 2 seconds later) it was ended(not surprising)
Holy cow!!
Someone got a deal, despite the description being misleading. It wasn't new -- not with a ROM card and RF Modulator already installed.
Wow Zan!!!
That II was a steal!
And the picture for this evening:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191711130135?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Now, I know that at "Signed by Woz" I can get an autograph for $45.00.
That must mean that the High School Yearbook must be worth at least $954.00, right?
LOL!
Man, I swear.
Steven
Not the minimum first bid limit is the joke....
the real joke ist the "buy it now" price !
Seems that the annual "Xmas crazy show"
hunting for new limit in outer space starts this year nearly a month earlier......
i´m cute about who will make this years award for most outragious demand.....
maybe we should send aroud this year a hat for collecting a old
damaged rocket modell and spray it with silver color and fix it
to a "original rock from crazy horse point" and grant that to
the winner....
speedyG
Yeah Speedy!
That's the Ticket!
LOL
Steven
Does anyone know who this is?!?:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252119391196?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262086561294?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
There seems to be quite a few II's showing up.
Steven
They seem to have an idea of what to promote on the Apple ][s..
I have not heard of any Apple or Classic Computer collectors in Milton-Freewater, OR.. ( That is in North-Eastern Oregon )
All the Collectors I have met On-Line are in the Willamette Valley..
MarkO
The gentleman in question has a bunch of Apple II stuff, some being repaired by someone I know. He has some very nice stuff in the pipeline. Hopefully my keyboard encoder chip (being mailed out Tuesday) will get one of his keyboards going again!!
I know the person helping him get the machines refurbished and in working order, they are legitimate machines being well cared for prior to their sale.
Zan
Cool.
Steven
OK then... Here we go with the $2500 AppleTV Keyboard and mouse set...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Keyboard-II-ADB-Black-Vintage-Rare-Macintosh-TV-Coiled-Cable-M0487-RARE-/321663877076?hash=item4ae4a93fd4
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Desktop-Bus-Mouse-II-ADB-Black-Vintage-Rare-Macintosh-TV-M2706-/321669088777?hash=item4ae4f8c609
Normally I think one shouldn't try to talk anyone down more than 20% (Kinda like "If you ain'tgot, you can't afford it," or it's simply not worth to you what somebody is asking), but in circumstances like these I feel doing a $10 for the set offer.
For the low, low price of just over 750 bucks, you can get one of these.
That is small potatoes compared to this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-PICASSO-POSTER-APPLE-MACINTOSH-POSTER-ART-RARE-MAC-POSTER-/151851230543?hash=item235b09e54f:g:KwkAAOSwI-BWIWdP
9K for a print. WOW!
Steven
Hi Steven,
that´s not outragious...
that´s normal greed and stupidness in marketplace of art.....!
bear in mind the famous dove scetch from Picasso used later as
symbol for the peace walks in the end of the 60´s....
if you find a paper napkin with few pencil lines of that early drawing
you´ld get even 60 k if it´s not signed....
Take an old slappy used Stetson from a cowboy....
get the bull piss on the hat and the cow to sh... inside of it...
nail the hat on a old plank of wood add a unreadable signature...
and write with a pancil at the bottom of the plank:
"yippie yeah that old cowboy got depressive"
and then put it up at ebay for 50k as "marlboro mans final call"
- you´ll surely find a crazy buyer...
