Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

Are they Lisa 1's? 2/10's .....Mac XL's with the screen mod kits etc?

depending on model and what you have there will greatly effect the price of them

and trying to offload 15 at once, regardless of the model isn't going to be easy

can you post some pictures?

might better help people in giving you some price guides and advice.

goodluck

MC,

You have 4 brand new in the box, never been opened units?
Depending on the Model, you could be looking at a good chunk of change. lol Smile

....providing the batteries haven't leaked and destroyed the daughter cards.
That would be a real shame.

Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

If by dumpster you mean give them to me, then that's a great idea! Biggrin

Anyway, the "various states of repair" units could probably be fixed up by the right person, so there still is a market for that stuff.

I am interested in one to display in my store. Keep me in mind when you decide to sell them.

I might as well be burried with my collection, not sure if id consider selling them on ebay, i dislike that site.

But when i decide to sell ill let you guys know. More than likely if I sell my entire lisa collection, will be sold as one big lot.

Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

Would be really nice if you could take a few moments and photograph for us one of your boxed units and show everyone what they looked like when they left the factory.

The idea of a brand new and never used Lisa sounds really interesting

Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

probably there is one point to recognize:
selling the entire lot adresses only to dealers that resell them an they of course would like to make money so that will press the price down below normal worth of the units... it´s same like to cars : if you want to sell 15 cars in a bunch no normal user would reply... and with dealers you´ld have to accept a rather high loss in price...
but selling the units single by single the number of customers will raise and then the offers are calculated without the dealers advantage... that difference will be in your own pocket instead...
and just as explained in the posts above... dependent to the modells and the their shape of condition you will get your price... there are people out there that will even just take also a lise in repairstatus as source for spareparts or to be repaired in DIY.... but as explained above too - the beginning of any offers will be some photos of the items giving each item a number to refer to within the replies... and last not least just think about waisting several months searching for a dealer or reseller to take the entire lot or probably beeing able to sell the units single by single within 2 or 3 months is worth a thought too....

Don't mean to sound rude, but I'm still not convinced this is for real.

I just mentioned in my post to publish some photos....
if no pics will be published its like a sale of cats in a bag or a car without photo and no view "under the hood"...
so if no pics or links to the pics are published you might be right with your doubts....
but we should at least give the guy a chance... and if it turns out true i´ve mentioned above some points to think about
and if not then it might get close to the guess below...
probably it could just be somebody who knows where the stuff is, but does not know how much to pay for
and who does not want to take risk of paying to much for the items and if he gets a less price here named hopes "to
hit the jackpot" within 24 hours ... buy today for 10 bucks and sell it tommorow for 50 bucks....

its a bad joke ... but its reality in nowadays greedy life.... so times are changing ... if you don´t believe - take a close look to wallstreet and watch the banking-cowboys and their bosses while they are looking for the stupid guys to pay their bills on bad bets.... nobody talks today about responsibility and the fact that these guys made a lot of bucks in the years before and the masses of people that have been ripped by that...

the thread sounds quite similar to the other thread several days ago related to the IIGS´s where another guy was tring to find out how to make money with applestuff.... the topic was started with the title "Some Apple IIgs Computer System questions" .....

just slip down to my reply ... i assumed my opinion there very clearly....
probably this will end up with some similar reply....

Well, a broken Lisa are worth $10 to $25.

A working one is $25 to $75.

A mint one is $100 to $300.

If you sell them all, you may get $500 to $2000. :mac:

Macinlinux,

You sure haven't been looking at the Lisa's that have been for sale on eBay.
Even a non-operational one is going for over $100.00.
And if you are trying to find Software....you can start at somewhere around $250.00 per application. Smile

Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

That's not the price my friend sells them.

He has sold 100 for them working for $75 each.

And I meant without the keyboard and mouse and yellowed a lot.

EDIT: Wow! I looked on eBay a found a working Lisa without mouse and keyboard for the low price of (you guessed it) $500. That is a lot of money!

Do you have any manuals or software. I would be interested in that.

there are several links above to various pictures of the items within that buy - so it might be a good idea to view them es well as the pictures related to the topic "Ultra-BIG Monster Megahaul". I just believe that the "Ultra-BIG Monster Megahaul" would even be more of interest to you.

Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

If the original starter of this thread is being honest with us about having a stash of so many Lisa's and several in such perfect condition, I strongly suggest that true wisdom motivate the final decision on what to do with them, rather than base the decision upon financial gain. I would suggest the donation of one of those unboxed leases to a well-known computer museum that is in the midst of a large population. And perhaps another pristine Lisa could be donated to an vintage computing enthusiast among us who has a zeal for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, photographing and documenting vintage Mac hardware for the entire vintage Mac community to see, enjoy, and benefit from online.

As a vintage Mac enthusiast myself, it always saddens me think of all those unique, vintage machines out there that merely sit collecting dust in people's closets, going unused and benefiting no one. Sometimes the owners of those machines keep them in that way in hopes of finding a pot of gold some years down the road. Other owners of those machines just keep them in the closets because they've merely forgotten about them or because they just don't care about them. Either case is very sad situation. Certainly as the owner of such hardware, you have the right to do whatever you like with that hardware. But I am implore you to consider the philanthropic alternatives. Even so, in this particular case, if the poster was being honest with us, then he has more than enough units to both sell for profit and to giveaway free of charge.

In summary, I would like to humbly suggest that the owner put "the greater good" above fleeting riches.

That's been the question from the outset. Seems less and less likely as time has gone on.

Re: Lisa Approx 15 units

Seems by his last comment that he was going to sell the whole lot of them at once.
Well, That means that he eventually is going to have to take photographs to show folks what he has.
Why he has not bothered to show us any of what he has, I can only speculate.
