Powering 2 External IDE Optical Drives simultaneously

My present IDE Pioneer works satisfactorily externally when connected to my Mac mini via a IDE -USB adapter. Assuming I add another optical drive, can I use the existing 12 V Power Supply with a Y Molex splitter and another IDE-USB adapter ? What precautions - if any - as the PSU pin 2 appears blank ? Thanks

It depends entirely on the current provided by the power supply, if it is ~2a then I don't forsee a problem.
