Power Macintosh 7100/66AV - Need Printer

PowerPC Macs

Hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction. I am cleaning up a "vintage" Power Macintosh 7100/66AV. I need to print off a few files, but alas, my laser printer finally bit the dust. Since I do not have a USB port, is there a cheap printer (less than $100) I can connect to print off some files. I am using Mac OS 8.5.

Any help is very appreciated!!
Thanks!!

Find something that can print

Find something that can print to PDF, then copy the PDFs somewhere and print from there. Or, just copy the files directly. Is there a reason you just want print outs and not the actual files?

Epson Stylus Color

The very popular Epson Stylus Color 700 series computers had the serial port so you can connect one of those to your 7100. You just need the standard serial cable. I've got three of the Epson 740's and all three still work fine. I think I found all three at thrift stores for like $5 a piece or something like that. You can still find the inks online for cheap, so if you can find one of those printers in good condition you'll be in business. The software should be downloadable online somewhere too.

Stylewriter II

I have a working Apple Stylewriter II black-and-white printer. Includes software, power cord, Serial cable & users manual. Much, much less than $100.

Contact me off-line at caltx (at) flash.net

Serial Printers

I have a bunch of old serial printers, including an Epson or two.

Free, you pay shipping.

If interested, I'll check to see what I actually have.

I'd second the Epson Sylus Color 740, has Serial, Parallel and USB so it works on just about anything…
