Drive door wont close

PowerPC Macs

I recently added a I/O Magic DL DVD drive to my G4 tower but the way the drive opens the door gets stuck on the tray door when it closes. I have no ideas on how to fix this. The drive tray is bigger then the Pioneer DVR-105 it replaced. Any ideas on how to get it to work with leaving the door off or hacking the heck out of something?

You can most likely take the plastic part at the end of the tray off, probably just slides off, or it has screws underneath.

The door is too tall not wide

the standard drive tray is what like 1/2 inch well this is about 3/4 inch high and the door is getting caught on the bottom of the tray as it tries to close

I think what he was talking about was to take the part at the very end of the tray off. There should be the tray that the CD goes on to, and then the vertical part that closes the opening when the drive shuts. I'm guessing that the bottom of that vertical part is catching on the towers flip door. It shouldn't be hard to get the vertical piece off. It's probably a couple screws and plastic clips holding it one. It may not even have any screws.

Can you provide a picture of the machine with the tray open? That might help us figure out what you need to do to fix it.
