Atto SiliconExpress IV formatting software.
Apologies for the spray of questions I've been asking around the forums - I've had so much new old hardware come in to play with it's just been a jump from one machine to another to another, trying out all the stuff I couldn't before
. Thankfully I've been able to get a IIsi and a 10/100 NuBus card up and working with help from y'all here.
Now for the next one... I have an ATTO SiliconExpress IV I hadn't been able to use before, simply because I didn't have the drives & cables to use on it. Now it's in a 7100 attached to an IBM 9 GB 68 pin SCSI drive - 7200RPM, not that noisy, and giving 7-9MB/sec according to ATTO's own performance utility. At the moment it's formatted as it came in one single large partition, and as I understand it from reading old newsgroup postings found via google groups it won't work as a boot drive unless I have a boot partition under 2GB in size.
The problem I have is I want it to work as a boot drive, so I need to partition it but can't find the software to do so. ATTO's site doesn't look to contain any of the old NuBus software it used to, although I did download some of it when I first obtained the card several years ago. I'm kicking myself now that I didn't go through and nab everything on offer. Another google groups post recommended that Charismac's Anubis does a fine job of supporting the SEIV, but the download for it on macupdate.com ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/5127 ) goes to an IP address that fails to connect for me. Anyone have any hints to get me on my way, perhaps someone with ATTO's own NuBus mac formatting utility, if one exists.
Thanks again,
dana
