some way to fix ipaq 3600

ok well i have no idea where to post this after what i did to my handheld. the rom update did the same thing to many other 3600 series ipaqs as it did to mine: no startup whatsoever. i found instructions on how to fix it on a pc, but it requires usb and my usb cradle doesn't work at all. is there some way to fix it on mac os 9 (serial adapter of mine works on os 9 with serial cradle) or by itself? the only thing i can think of is to crack it open and disconnect the battery to see what happens. if that doesn't work...i'll take a freaking hammer to it then.

If you've found instructions for fixing it with a USB cradle, and yours is broken, well... you can buy a new USB dock/charging cable for $15.

I'd think it'd be worth more then $15 but I suppose if you really want to take a hammer to it that's your business.

i honestly don't care. the whole point of using the old ipaq was to avoid buying a new pda or using either of my laptops on a trip i'm going on. it's probably more useful flattened than it is a paperweight...
