Hey guys and gals...
I just picked up a 120 GB Western Digital Drive for my Dual 450mhz G4. I salved it and it shows up in Disk Utility. I got for format (erase) the disk and it stalls at 'unmounting old volume'
The drive wasn't mounted in the first place, as it was not previously formatted. Any suggestions?

I take it you have the jumpers on the drive set correctly?
If anything, try setting the drive as master and try formatting it.
Welp problem resolved... but I don't know what did it...
I swapped the jumpers from slave to master, then from master to cable select, then back to slave and when i did that the drive showed up, ready to be formatted.
