WANTED: operate 2 seperate displays with ibook - no screen "mirroring" !!!

i heard about a software, a couple of weeks ago. what it does is actually unknown to me, but it enables a mode like if you were using a powerbook: you can operate 2 seperate displays, no.1 built-in lcd, no.2 external connector. it's not a mirroring, but a real extension of your desktop to a secondary display.

did anyone here about this little piece of software? if yes, does anybody know where to get it and are there maybe some guys / girls / whatever with experience using this neat tool? are there any backdraws? is it dangerous to use it? Eye-wink

Tends to make the iBook run pretty hot. Make sure you've got proper ventilation, and maybe one of those laptop stand/cooling fan combo units. I used SSD with my iBook (G3/700) which later died. I don't think SSD had anything to do with it, but in the interest of full disclosure, it should probably be noted.
