Here is the story. Built a G4 using www.2khappyware.com. Everything is done EXCEPT. It won't power on unless I use the power button located on my Apple LCD. None of the buttons work on the front of the case. Does anyone have any ideas on how to turn this baby on? I can't use my Apple flat panel.
Also if anyone knows this how can I troubleshoot this? How do I know if it's the port on the mother board or the wires in the case that run to the power button. Thanks
It's a gigabit ethernet g4/400 with 512 RAM and an nVidia GeForce MX
If it ain't broke, Fix it 'till it is!!!look on ebay for a g4 power switch board. there should be a place for one to plug in on the motherboard
It's amazing what sleep can do. First thing I did when I woke up was figure out the problem. I wasn't connecting the ground wire to the motherboard. Once I did that the power button and reset button started working. Everything is good now. Updated the firmware and put a 1ghz cpu in that bad boy. Life is good.
