Server trouble
The server is not inclined to stay up.
We've been experiencing extremely high load the last couple of evenings, combined with hardware trouble (it looks like the IDE controller is on its last leg).
The replacement server was mailed out today. If the high load continues, we may keep crashing until the new one is up and running, so please be patient (and quit hitting reload!).
Tom Owad

what are you currently using for a server?

Just kidding Tom. Glad you got a faster one though.
Up for good?
Ok, I think we have everything worked out. I'm going to poke around and watch things for a couple hours before officially welcoming everybody back.
Jinx Test...
Just checking here...Seems every time I send a PM or post lately
the flippin' system crashes! Hope I'm not a jinx!
Tom. Did you ever get my PM's? Hope everything stays up as I am
having "Fritter-withdrawal" .

Some people march to a different drummer... I have a 52-piece orchestra playing just for me!
I told you Eudi!
I remember when that server was built in Eudi's living room. I said "the mac boys would never accept AF running on a PC." and Eudi responded "they don't need to know."

Snicker.
There was a reason why I always responded to questions about what the Applefritter server was running on with streams of nonsense involving Elven magic and ancient runes. ;^>
Which pretty accurately describes Linux anyway, really.
