Trying To Find A Game Called Freedom

Apple II

My friend challenged me to find out about a game for him that he played in the early 90's (not necessarily the release date). The original information he gave me:
Blue Mac Floppy Disk
1st person action
Objective: A slave trying to go from the north to the south. He never succeeded, but it was "so cool" because you had to pay attention to moss on trees to know which direction to go. He thought it was created by the same people who did Number Munchers (MECC), but it's not (at least, they're not credited on wikipedia).
We have since come to find out the game is called Freedom, but I haven't found any additional information. I have been searching these boards and google for nearly an hour trying to find something more, but I fear I reached a deadend. I have checked Asimov to no avail.
I'm wondering, is the game possibly not called Freedom? If so, or if not, any help would be quite appreciated.
Thank you.

Please keep me up on the progress. He said he'd be delighted for a screen shot, or some other images. I think, in his heart of hearts, he'd like to find it on an emulator, but isn't holding his breath.
