No Audio with tv tuner card in powermac 5400/5500

My trusty TV tuner card i use with my my powermac 5400,5500 suddenly stopped
producing sound when using TV. Using the computer, the sound works
fine.when you go to tv mode you get a pic but no audio. I've trashed the prefs, did a fresh install of OS 7.1 from the
original install disks. Finally, I've removed and reseated the tuner
card. Can anyone think of anything else to try?

OS 7.1? I'm going to think that's a typo and figure you meant 8.1 or something Sticking out tongue

But at any rate, I have an issue with my TV/FM card too occasionally... Try this; go into the Sound control panel (or use the control strip), and select "CD-TV-Video" for sound input, then reopen the Apple Video Player. If it works for you, I couldn't tell you why (because AVP always used to switch it automatically I think)... if not, then keep asking around :/
