iMac G5 17" (iSight) LCD hack

I have a dead 17" iMac G5 with the built in iSight. The logic board is gone and not worth replacing but the LCD is fine. Does anyone have any idea how one could turn this into a 17" monitor? I would also like to try and use the iSight camera in a different enclosure. I am not very skilled in electrical work but figure that it couldn't be impossible and will bet that it's not all that difficult. (I hope.) Any help would be much appreciated.

Before you gut this machine ...

Check with your local Apple authorized service provider, and ask about the iMac G5 REP. Even out-of-warranty iMacs that meet certain criteria could qualify for a *FREE* logic board replacement. Worth a shot at least.
