Globe on the start up of mac book pro.. strange..

hmmm.. i have one of the brand new mac book pros.. 2.4 ghz, the whole deal.. ive had it for about a month.. and i went to turn it on, and when the screen is usually white with a grey apple.. it was white with a grey flashing global.. complete with all the continents.. and then after i'd say 30 seconds, the apple when back and then it started.. any idea what that was about ?

I'd guess it's trying to netw

I'd guess it's trying to network boot. Go to your System Preferences, choose the "Startup Disk" icon, and make sure that your hard drive is selected instead of "Network Startup".

touching keyboard?

This is what happens if you start up while holding down the "N" key. If it keeps doing this, you can bypass it by holding down the option key to see your available startup volumes.

Oh, you got the special WORLD DOMINATION EDITION of MacBook. Must have been Steve's personal computer before you used it Eye-wink

Rumor has it that same computer housed the details of the iPod before it was released. Look what happened with that! Check and see if yours has the Powerbook G5 specs in it. Maybe thats why we never got one ;-)
