Mac OS X Public Beta

I've been looking in the history of Mac OS X and I wanted to know a bit about the Orig. OSX Beta there's not much info on it. The most I know is it was plagued with bugs and short commings, it was $29.99+ Tax, and it didn't feature the Apple Menu. Also are there any people how've used it ? I know it caused a lot of controversy when it came out.

I still have it...

I used it when it first came out...on my Wallsttreet PDQ. As I remember it was very buggy and slow. But then again it was a beta.

I bought 2 copies, one I used, one I saved. I still have an unopened copy of OS X 10.0 also.

I've yet to be able to get my copy to boot on a machine since the beta period. God, those were wild adventurous times. Ran it on my old bondi blue iMac back then.
