help with internet on powerbook 1400cs

PowerPC Macs

Hi,
im a 13 year old boy and i receantly bought me a asante micro en/sc off ebay. Also i got a macintosh powerbook 1400cs thats running mac os 9.1. I have the asante driver files but whenever i launch the installer it will say please insert the asante ethertalk installer disk like it think i ejected it or something. Is there a problem with my OS or what
? Do i have to boot with extension off or is that just for system 7?

Thanks in advance

Are you trying to unstuff and

Are you trying to unstuff and run the installer directly from the CD? Try this instead:

Drag the stuffed installer file to the desktop. Unstuff it and run it from there, rather than from the CD.

Report back whether or not this makes any difference.

I seem to recall using Disk C

I seem to recall using Disk Copy (which should be in your Applications/Apple Extras folder to fake out the installer.

Make a 1.44 MB disk image, and mount it on the desktop. Name the mounted image the exact same name the installer is asking for.

Now copy all the asante installer files into that image, and run the installer from there. It should convince the installer that it's running from the correct installer floppy.

ill try

let me try that

thank you so much
