Help! my plus's floppy is not working...

Help! my plus's floppy is not working. the built in floppy drive of my mac plus eject properly and when reading a disk sounds like it is running properly but when i insert a disk it gives me a message asking me if i want to initialize the disk and then i will click 1 or 2 sided disk and it starts and sounds fine then it tells me that the initialization failed and spits the disk out. Please help! i want to get this running again!

Is the drive full of dust bunnies? I've had floppy disks stop reading or writing to disks due to a heard of dust buffalo taking up residence inside.

remove the drive from the computer, open it up, and use a can of compressed air to carefully blow the dust out. Be carefull to not blow the dust deeper into the mechanism, and don't touch the read/write heads w/ anything

Need a replacement drive?

I have a dead Plus I could pull a floppy drive from. PM me if you're interested and we'll work out a price that makes us both happy.
