Ibook 800mhz, crummy web streamer

PowerPC Macs

I have this snow ibook with the following specs and it is a crappy web streamer. On sites like youtube, veoh, google video, ect, I try to watch videos but the video streams terribly slow, but the audio seem to do just fine. I updgraded to flash player 9, but its just no use, the specs on it aren't that bad, anyone know whats wrong with it?

800mhz powerpc g3

30gb hard disk
16 mb v-ram (ati agp, I think)

I'd say RAM is probably your biggest culprit.

You might also consider upgrading to Panther (10.3.x) as well -- but add RAM first

RAM. (period, absolutely) Then the OS. I've got a 600MHz iBook, but with 640MB RAM (128 built-in + 512MB SO-DIMM) and I can watch streaming video over WiFi. It's not great and does lag a bit, but you've got 1/3 more MHz so that should help.

at least double the ram. my albook runs at 1ghz with only 256 megs of ram, and it streams youtube just fine opposed to my 250mhz wallstreet with 192 megs of ram. i bet even my wallstreet could stream youtube if i maxed it out.

RAM and Jaguar

Well I would say the most the OS 10.2 is very sluggish and 128 MB probably doesn't cut it. I would suggest putting more ran in the Late G3 iBooks can take up to 640 MB. Also it would help to get you're hands on a copy of 10.3 which is much more efficient and the GUI is faster.
