IIsi don't recognize floppy disk

Hardware Repair Help

My old Mac IIsi floppy drive was full of dust and it could not read any floppies. I replaced it with another drive (cradle 805-5050-A, no markings in drive itself, it looks like SONY MP-F75W). For some reason it cannot read 1.44 MB disks and it formats blank disks to 880K capacity.

I know that 805-5050-A parts were used in some other Mac IIs, but I assumed that drives are interchangable.

Any tips how to proceed?

Do you have another drive you

Do you have another drive you could try? It sounds like maybe the one you've tried is an 800k drive.

Got it working

I carefully cleaned the dust from old drive and now it's up and running.
