Well it turns out the high speed usb adapter , along with a IIC null cable modem works like a champ when it comes to transfering Apple 5 1/4 disks! Just wanted to say thanks to Dave @ www.retrofloppy.com for the cables 
) Thanks.... Goes too show you , you dont always need a serial cable to do transfers!
