PSU requires time to charge up?

PowerPC Macs

My sister's got a CRT iMac DV that needs to be plugged in for awhile before it will power up. I've got a Sony Vaio desktop that has the same problem. What would be the cause of this? Leaky capacitors in the power supply?

PRAM battery?

Check the voltage on the PRAM battery in the iMac DV. If it's under 3V, replace it.

As for the Vaio, you might also check its CMOS battery, but that may or may not be the issue.
