Recommended late 70s books on how to set up your Apple II

Apple II

...especially for beginners.
Interested in setting up the system from scratch, where to plug in the Disk II drives, commands to boot a floppy etc
Any suggestions appreciated.
Is the "red book" oriented toward programming or general set-up

Greetings,

You might try this website: http://www.1000bit.net/support/manuali/manuali.asp they have several manuals for the Apple II series of computers. I'd try the Apple II Reference manual first, since if I remember right, it helps with setting up and hooking up the Apple II.

Set Up Books and Manuals

Any issues of A+ InCider magazine (out of print but available)
Any issues of AII+ magazine (out of print but available)
Apple IIe Owners Manual (available possibly from site members)
Apple ][ Reference Manual (covers Apple II and Apple II+ computers)
Apple // DOS Programmers Manual (For II, II+ and //e)
AppleSoft Tutorial (For the //e)

It might be possible to obtain the Apple Manuals direct from
Apple Computer, but I'm sure that they can be gotten through
sources here on the board at a reduced cost. These should be
the answers to most, if not all of your questions regarding
the Apple II series of computers.

There are several other Apple publications, and if you wish I
can list the titles.

Hope this is helpful.
