This control panel runs on System 7 - OS 9 and logs AppleEvents. It's useful when doing coding that uses interapplication communication on Mac OS 9. The old URL to get it was http://www.westcodesoft.com/FTPOCTools.html but it's gone off the net. The WayBack machine (archive.org) did catalog the site, but the actual download is on an FTP server and not in the archive...

Grr.

Does anyone have a copy on a hard drive somewhere?

Peace,
Drew

Hi,

Have you tried browing a version of the site via the internet archive:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.westcodesoft.com/FTPOCTools.html

They may have a file there somewhere.

Regards,

James.

Like I said above, I have tried that. The download is hosted on an FTP server and consequently not in the archive...

re: Looking for "Capture AE"

Yo Drew,

I usually have good luck if I search for the actual file name, but in this case all search engine returns for "CaptureAE.sit.hqx" send me right back the the defunct ftp address. Tongue

have you asked on any forums like the one at http://forums.realsoftware.com/ ? There's gotta be some ol' coders out there who use it, or used to use it anyhow.

Might it have been distributed in any other dev packages? I do have stuff like various versions of CodeWarrior, and similar, but have no idea what's inside.

Any clue who were the principles of westcodesoft? Maybe possible to track down a name...

If you do find it, please make sure to put it up somewhere so others (eg: me Smile can have a copy.

Re: Looking for "Capture AE"

Hi,

Apologies for skimming over your post too quickly.

Not sure if this has all the functionality of CaptureAE but this also seems to capture AppleEvents:
