Well, for whatever reason the LCD on my Sony MZ-R3 is fading. I use it for recording speech events mostly, and I need to be able to see the level meter on the display in order to adjust the mic gain properly...anyway, I think it's time to look into a new recorder. Sony recently accounced the HiMD format, which looks really cool, but I just don't have the $300 to spend on a decent portable recorder. So I'm looking for a compact, portable MiniDisc recorder that offers stereo mic input. I guess I'd prefer one of the newer NetMD models (with MDLP) but regular old MiniDisc would work too.
