... I do realize that. I've got OS X Mail set to send plain text only, and I've been posting successfully to LEM Swap from OS X Mail for about two years now, on and off. I've also tried posting from GNU Mail, as well as .Mac Web mail, Yahoo Web Mail, and two other Web Mail interfaces. All are set to compose in plain text (if they have a preference setting for that).

I've also composed messages in TextEdit (as plain text, not rtf), in BBEdit (again, plain text), and in the email clients/Web mail windows themselves.

I've fiddled with subject lines, message text, everything I can think of. I've now tried to post from five different email addresses. All subscribe successfully and receive Swap List posts successfully -- but I can't actually post successfully with any of them.

The only thing I can think of is that the MacLaunch servers blacklist certain IPs and/or domains. Perhaps my ISP (comcast.net) is blacklisted -- even with the Web mail messages, the raw source of the message identifies where my message starts (i.e. the node within Comcast from which I'm sending). Or, alternatively, perhaps my currently assigned dynamic IP address is on a blacklist from when someone else had it.

Other than that, I can't see any commonalities among all the messages I've sent. It's a real PIA.

Well, I'm now able to post on LEM Swap. (Turns out the list was set to require moderators to manually approve posting by new subscribers -- some sort of settings glitch...) --

I am sorry to report that after consulting with my wife, she decided
that a Mac would be a great incentive / reward for the kids. So it
won't be for a few months at least before I can I can buy one.
