Balloon editor wierdness

For some reason the editor doesn't save what you do to the floater of each character. The red pulsating one changes what it looks like in the menu as well. Also, skins act funny sometimes. Sometimes they dissapear and it uses your main balloon set. Other times it appears on another player altogeter!
Stickers act funny when roulette is activated as well. Rather than spin with the balloon, they are obsessed with staying in the same spot, and flicker like mad. Theres the blank spot on the characters menu too... whats that for? On a side note, I replaced that wierd clock skin with one that features the face of my friends friend and man, is it creepy.

The blank spots are characters that you haven't won yet. At the moment, the game doesn't save what floater you've picked in the prefs.

When you were getting skins swapping about etc. were you playing the Story game ?

I had these problems too a fe

I had these problems too a few days ago. My sister was playing and showed me the flickering stickers and the swapping skins. She tells me it was in the Story game. (with Moon, if that helps any)

Also, I made a skin with a picture of my cat, right down to the right format, size and resolution but it made the game crash during startup. I tried saving it with preview and graphicconverter and made sure it was exactly like one of the examples. Also I tried replacing one of the examples with my picture and giving it the right name, but it still crashed anyway.

So now I'm kind of waiting for the 'make your own skins guide' to appear on the official airburst extreme site to see if I did anything wrong.

The skins have to be 32 bit (

The skins have to be 32 bit (24 bit + alpha mask) TGA files, uncompressed. At the moment, anything else causes a somewhat impolite exit from the game. Hopefully, we'll have some spare time to write a guide soon Smiling

If I had any ideas for hints, I'd put them in the guide I'm making now for GameFAQs...

When I've finished, I could "donate" it to a "worthy cause"... y'know?

Ok, I'm missing 3 characters,

Ok, I'm missing 3 characters, but I can see 3 shadows of them in the menu. Right next to the last one is a spot with no shadow... or maybe I need to keep playing. Once I get past that dang balloon race...

I'm still trying. I don't have photoshop nor the knowledge to use it, so I tried to make graphicconverter use your specifications, but airburst still crashes. Would be nice to make custom skins sometime in the coming year though...

until we get around to doing the guide, the easiest way to do a custom skin is to modify one of the skins in the skins folder.

As long as you don't change its format, it should be ok.
