AIO on the fritz

Kinda looks like the video board is on its way out or it may be a video memory chip but if it works with a external monitor I'd say the monitor is going Bye bye. Use the exrernal monitor if you can. I have a few of the G3 AIOs, untested yet as I just got them in. keep me posted as I may have a part you might need if its a minor repair.

I forgot to mention that if I leave the monitor connected and try to start 10.2.8, it locks the same as if it was not connected. It is using the built-in video with no VRAM module.

I believe I have a couple of Beige G3s lying around in working condition that I can attempt to tranfer the hard drive to. The only issue comes from the iTunes library - some of the music was purcased from the store and I don't want to lose the ability to play it.

I removed the hard drive and placed it in my ATX G3 hack. The results were mixed:

1) I can not boot the drive. It shows the No sign instead.
2) If connected as the slave, I can view its contents.

Stick it back in the AIO, load up off the 10.2 cd and do first aid off it.

It's a common problem for AIOs to lose their monitor power supply board. The most common symptoms are garbled video, and a cracking sound at random intervals, and with the screen flickering. I've already replaced the monitor on my AIO, and still have the old one if you need any parts.

Currently I have the hard disk from the AIO in a G3-ATX hack I did a while back. It's a little faster than the AIO was (333 vs 266, more RAM). It's connected to an Apple MutliSync 17" monitor, although most of the time it runs with the screen off. The iTunes library has been imported to the 'new' host.

Eventually I need to connect it back to the AIO board and attempt to boot OS X on it to deauthorize the machine from iTunes (I'm maxed out at 5 computers, and the AIO is one of them).

while in the 'new' G3, and it took about 2 hours to repair everything. I'll be connecting the drive back to the AIO for iTunes deauthorization soon (I hope).

Hi, I'm desperate right now...I'm in process of building a g3 aio\g4 ibook mod. I electrocuted myself gutting the beast and fried the power supply. I need a g3 aio PSU desperately. Anybody got one (or a broken AIO?) The psu is relatively easily removed, and it's a lot cheaper than sending the whole unit!

I've got lots of computer guts to trade for this powersupply, i've got g3 boards, (beige and B+W) I've got older power macs i've got pizza boxes, i've got PC's. If anyone can help, please let me know!
