Well knock me down with a puff of smoke...

Remember Outdoors

I don't know where my head has been lately, but I just realized that I'm two days into my third week as a non-smoker. That's right, I'm about one hour away from closing out day 16 and beginning day seventeen.

I hadn't even given it much thought... Smiling

It's willpower... It's mind over matter... That's what it all boils down to; you make a conscious decision and you stick to your guns no matter what.

Hey, guess what?

I'm into something like the 12th hour of my first day, and it hurts. If I make it a week... I can do anything.

I envy you. Sticking out tongue

It's not that tough if you're really committed to quitting. You can do it. I have faith in you. Smiling

Too late... we're unionized...

Congrats, William!

Keep at it, Roy!

We'll all have to get together and have a beer and talk about how much we used to LOVE smoking while drinking beer...

Seriously, though... keep at it, guys... It gets easier.

Hah that was me...not too long ago either. I think I've been smoke free for about 3 months...

urrrgh

2:55pm on day two of quitting, everything at work is p*ssing me off, I hate every customer and wanna tell em exactly what I think...

But I still haven't had a cigarette. I still don't want one, I'm constantly aware that having one would relieve this stress, but I don't have the urge to go out and buy some.

I guess this is kinda easy, it just feels like crap.

Don't feel too bad about getting pissed off at everything and everyone, that goes away after a few days. Most people will understand if they know that you're trying to quit smoking. Smiling

You should hear me around home; I let everybody know what I think. Eye-wink

Keep it up... If I can quit, anybody can...

Burning...

Did anyone else get a 'burning' feeling in their chest for the first few days?

Reverend Darkness's picture

Burning?

No... well, not any more than usual...

I have asthma, so I didn't notice a lot of the rehabilitory effects for a looooong time.

The worst thing I dealt with was being high from the increased oxygen levels in my blood. Both my wife and I felt light headed for a week or two... you know... kinda like a "three toke" feelin... y'know? I know you know...

Duuuuuuude.....

Anyway, to quote the old commercial: "The burn means it's working!"
