Burn Speed in Disk Burner
I have an issue with my CD burner- in iTunes, I generally can only get successful burns at slower speeds (8x or so, though it's a 52x drive), regardless of media. But in Disk Utility I don't see an option to specify slower speeds, so trying to burn an ISO is futile. Any ideas?
Aha, I saw now that in the burn dialog there was a blue square button which I hadn't thought to push- brings down the other options which were previously not there. I'm in X.3. I attempted 8x and got a coaster, but 4x seems to be doing the trick. Thanks.
This burner (a LiteOn) has been ticking me off for a couple of years. About 6 months after I got it I've been having these problems. It revs up, revs down. Stews for a few seconds. Repeat until whatever software is trying to burn gives up. I can get reading at decently high speeds, but burning a CD is like pulling teeth.
it is most likey a drive try puting it on a level place
and how do you connect it to your mac firewire (what I wish
I had) of usb (1.1 of 2.0) I'm not sure if the connect makes
a diffence but you might what to thing about it
hope this helps

What version of OS X? Under Tiger, when you go to burn an image file through Disk Utility, there's a drop-down menu right in the burning options window that lets you select burn speed.
