<title>Buying and Selling - Read Me First!</title>
<link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/10370</link>
<description>Buying and Selling on Applefritter

Posting an item for sale or trade:

Your ad should contain as much information as possible: condition, technical specs, shipping cost or location you're shipping from are helpful. The more information you can provide, the smoother your transaction will go.

Any information you wish to add after posting can be added as a reply to your original message.

"Bump" posts are not allowed.

Links to ebay auctions:

Posting a link to an ebay auction is allowed only for your own auctions. As above, include as much information as possible. Do not just post a link and leave people to guess what you're selling.

Replying to a post:

If you're interested in responding to a for sale ad, do it through private message only (PM).

To send a PM, click the user's name, then click on the "Send private message" link.

It is not necessary to reply within the thread "I've sent you a PM". These posts will be deleted, and you will be sent a PM noting your post has been removed.

Negotiating a sale, questions or suggestions to the seller should all be done through PM.

In short, there are few times when anyone other than the original poster should post to a Wanted thread.

Posts that are useful to other users (eg: That's the Sawtooth not Yikes board, seller is in Wales, etc.) will not be deleted, but are discouraged as posters should include this information in the first place.

Discussions arising from items for sale should be started as a new thread in the appropriate forum, and not part of the for sale forum.

Buyer beware:

Applefritter provides space for buying, selling and trading goods. However, please note transactions through Applefritter are the responsibility of the buyer and seller only. Any use of Applefritter forums for fraudulent purposes should be brought to the attention of a moderator.

Suggestions:

Ask for references, which could come from other members here, or an ebay account that they can prove is theirs.

Get package insurance and tracking

Get a signature required on delivery, in case an item is left half-out your front door when no one's home
<title>ThinkPad T22</title>
<link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/23342</link>
<description>As some of you may be aware, i recently acquired a ThinkPad T22 from a friend. Well, i am here to offer it to you.
Fairly soon, i'm going to be putting it up on eBay, but I'm offering you all first crack at it.

So, here goes:

For sale, 1 ThinkPad T22. It comes complete with a DVD-ROM* drive and a floppy drive. It features a 900 MHz Pent III CPU, and a 20 gig hard drive. The machine is in good to very good condition, with the exception of one small, non-structural crack, (pictured here) that does not affect operation. It's also got the ThinkPad trademark keyobard illumination, by which a bright white LED in the display frame can be activated via a key combination. It's also got USB, and an onboard V90 modem. The only other flaw is that the onboard ethernet does not, at this time, appear to be working. Comes pre-installed with Ubuntu v8, and with the v8 install DVD as well. However, there is nothing preventing you installing windows or whatever compatable OS you desire.

*DVD_ROM drive read speeds: 24X CD, 8X DVD

Asking price: $140.00

Oh, and... The wifi card is not included in this sale.</description>

<title>FREE: 3 PB 5300's</title>
<link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/23243</link>
<description>Howdy all,
I just dug out some old powerbooks that I used once upon a time and I hate to throw them away if anyone wants them. I just booted all three for the first time in probably 8 or 9 years and got a thrill hearing the startup bong again ;)
First: Powerbook 5300 - Boots just fine, has OS 8.x installed, 48mb of RAM (I think)
Second: Powerbook 5300c - Boots just fine, has OS 8.x installed, don't remember the RAM. Screen changes color, but it stabilized while I was just playing with it, YMMV.
Third: Powerbook 5300cs - Boots just fine, has OS 8.x installed, don't remember the RAM. Screen seems solid, though the cover is seperating at the bottom from the hinge springs, I guess.

I only have 2 power supplies to go with these, but both appear to work.

These are located in Tampa, FL. I'm willing to ship if you aren't local, but you gotta pay the actual cost of shipping. If you have questions, let me know! I hope someone can use these, I hate to scrap them.

Many thanks in advance,
Steve

<title>a bundle of PowerBook 500-series PRAM backup batteries for sale super-cheap</title>
<link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/23229</link>
<description>Hi everyone. I have a bunch of new-old-stock PowerBook internal batteries, Apple part number 922-0786 that I want to sell. These are the same as can be seen here:

 http://www.welovemacs.com/9220786.html

... where the price is $24.99 for one! I have seven of them, and I would rather sell them all at once. My minimum is $10, including postage. A better offer will take precedence, of course. If they don`t sell by the end of August, I will probably just recycle them.
