Wanted ads - Read Me First

Posting a Wanted ad on Applefritter

Post as much information as possible on the item you're looking for. What you're willing to pay, what you offer to trade, what specifications or condition of the item all help readers decide whether they have what you want.

Any information you wish to add after posting can be added as a reply to your original message.

"Bump" posts are not allowed.

Replying to a post:

If you're interested in responding to a want ad, do it through private message only (PM).

To send a PM, click the user's name, then click on the "Send private message" link.

It is not necessary to reply within the thread "I've sent you a PM". These posts will be deleted, and you will be sent a PM noting your post has been removed.

Negotiating a sale, questions or suggestions to the seller should all be done through PM.

In short, there are few times when anyone other than the original poster should post to a Wanted thread.

Posts that are useful to other users (eg: That's the Sawtooth not Yikes board, seller is in Wales, etc.) will not be deleted, but are discouraged as posters should include this information in the first place.

Questions about hardware you're looking for should be asked in the appropriate forum, and not part of your Wanted post.

Buyer beware:

Applefritter provides space for buying, selling and trading goods. However, please note transactions through Applefritter are the responsibility of the buyer and seller only. Any use of Applefritter forums for fraudulent purposes should be brought to the attention of a moderator.

Suggestions:

Ask for references, which could come from other members here, or an ebay account that they can prove is theirs.

Get package insurance and tracking

Get a signature required on delivery, in case an item is left half-out your front door when no one's home
powerbook scsi cables wanted

would really like to have the HDI30-HD50 cable as to be able to connect my powerbook directly to the external cdrom drive I currently have.

also if this seller would possible have one to bundle in same shipment I'll like to have a scsi dock or dock/normal adapter as well (realizing this probably is the best way to sync a powerbook and powermacintosh together if necessary isn't it?)

thanks very much

WTB: Yosemite G3 side panels

Looking to replace some severely aged Yosemite side panels with ones in better condition. I have a CD-ROM drive from said G3 which I can offer in exchange. Please contact me even if you only have ONE side panel to offer, do indicate WHICH side, however. The panel for the door has a crack from one screw-hole nearly all the way to the beveled corner, and the other panel is BADLY scuffed and scratched so I'm looking for replacements that are in better condition.

WTB: Asante Micro EN/SC Ethernet to SCSI Adapter

A long time ago I bought a PB 180. It is a great machine. It has a good amount of power, and yet still has the older powerbook charm. Now that I am taking more of an interest in it, I am buying some devices to add to it. I bought a CD 300, new batteries, some software (MS office, etc.), and an external HD. But I am missing one thing. I have my other macs on the internet, why not the 180. Well I did some research and found this is the device that meets my needs and then some (running off ADB power, etc.), but also found out that they aren't the easiest to find. So now I come here in hopes that somebody will sell me one. I need the software, convertor (obviously), and any cables that I need for operation (I am not sure what I need exactly in that respect). I don't think I need the manual, but it would be nice. Give me a quote and I will get back to you shortly.

thanks very much

iPod 3G FW/USB cable

I have a 3G iPod, and only a FW cable for it. I know that the Windows 3G iPods had a dual FW/USB cable so that one could charge the iPod and sync it with a PC at the same time. I've got a G4 mini and I hate dropping it in the cradle and waking the mini when it detects a new device, so I'd like a cable I can plug into the wall with the FW port and only plug into the mini with USB as needed. I k now someone has one of these cables siting in a drawer somewhere...
