<title> SelectRequestIcons - They change when selected!
 (select-request-icons.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/17312</link>
<description>SelectRequestIcons 1997 Jason Rainbows' Magic Theatre Art and Design
Requires System 7, 256 colors

The Select*Icon Series has gotten tremendous response. Thanks for all
your ideas and inspirations. In gratitude, I've gone through the
Requests List and put together this collection of the Two Dozen Most
Requested Icons!

My apologies to all my friends on Evangelist - I didn't do the anti
Microsloth images I promised. Maybe next time. I'm just not the kinda
person to hold a grudge. I'm sure Bill G. will be calling me any day now
to apologize for what Internet Exploder did to my internet
configuration. But I digress...

For those of you unfamiliar with the Select*Icons Series, you are in for
a real treat! These are real masterpieces of icon design (if I DO say
so, myself). Of course, like all icons in the Select* series, they do
some interesting things when you select them.

Select*Icons are all lovingly hand crafted by PixelMaster, Jason
Rainbows. The most unique and strikingly beautiful icons available
anywhere, each an individual jewel of icon design.

Please enjoy them for their artistic value, and don't foist animosity
upon me for some of the subjects included. Remember, these are what YOU
- the general public - requested and I am, after all, your humble
servant. I ask nothing but to please.

Have a good time and try not to hurt anybody with
these icons, okay?

Peace,

-Jason Rainbows

 <title> touchMe 1.2
 (touch-me-12.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/13501</link>
 <description>[touchMe 1.2]

touchMe is an application program to change the creation and/or modification date
time stamp of any Macintosh files or folders. It is like Unix command "touch".

To run the program, it requires System 7.1 or later. Under System 7.5, touchMe is
also AppleScriptable and allows to accept drag &amp; drop operations. The program is
written under the Metrowerks C++ application framework of CodeWarrior PowerPlant.
And, the package includes a set of its source codes.

* Changes since v.1.1.2, published on February 10, 1997 - New. The modifier-key
operation was changed. To touch the files, just put them onto the application
icon or the touchMe window. To fill in the date time columns, please drag and
drop the file or folder over the columns with the command-key pressed. - Bug. It
sometimes failed to hilite the border of touchMe window when you drag the files
with command-key pressed. Fixed for sure! - New. The text strings can be put
shortly in the date time columns even if you do not hold down the command-key or
option-key. - Bug. The indicator (*) for holding modifier keys was flickering
unsteadily on the top-left corner of the window. Fixed. - New. Corrected the
right captions of check boxes and radio buttons for the readability. - New. The
design of the Apple Guide file was improved. It now starts to open the topics
list window, instead of browing every panel in sequence from the first. The
previous version of the styled help board was discontinued. - New. The software
is now constructed from a bunch of reusable codes, which forms a class library
common to my "puriTEXT" program.

touchMe is a freeware program. You can distribute it without any limitations nor
permissions.

The latest version of this software is also available at:

 <title> OTChat 3.0.2
 (ot-chat-302.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/15379</link>
<description>OTChat 3.0.2 is most likely the last version that will ever be
released. All of my energies are now focused into NetRPG's big
brother, WebRPG, which is written in Java, and has WAY more features,
and will support plugins for various game systems. If you want to
check it out, go take a look at http://www.webrpg.com and click on
WebRPG Online Central. Thanks!

OTChat is a basic TCP/IP chat server that runs on a Macintosh, similar
to IRC. To use it, simply run it and connect to your mac using telnet or
a MUD client. A MUD client is better because it has a buffered input
line.

Version 3.0.2 fixes a bug where when a user /QUIT and everyone else
would get 3 disconnect messages.

 <title> OTSessionWatcher 1.0.1
 (ot-session-watcher-101.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/15380</link>
<description>OTSessionWatcher allows you to examine the data transmitted through Open
Transport TCP streams. This is useful for debugging network applications
and network problems, learning about networking protocols, or watching for
strange or unwanted TCP traffic.

If you have ever wondered what your computer was saying when it was talking
to other machines on the network, this program is the answer.

OTSessionWatcher requires a PowerPC (Power Macintosh or clone) and Open
Transport.

Version 1.0.1 is a simple rename of the program from StreamWatcher to
OTSessionWatcher due to a trademark conflict.

OTSessionWatcher is shareware, single user licenses cost US$35, site and
organisation-wide licenses are available.

More details are available from our web site at &lt;http://www.stairways.com/&gt;
including documentation and press releases.

Enjoy,
   Peter.

 <title> Nisus Indexing Macros 1.1
 (nisus-indexing-macros-11.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/16396</link>
 <description>Nisus Indexing Macros 1.1

(This version is an update to my Indexing Macros 1.0 for Nisus Writer,
posted to info-mac in May 1997. This update fixes a bug in 1.0 in which an
extra space was inserted in index entries generated with the "Personal
Name, 2 Last" and "Personal Name, 3 Last" macros. Adds an "Unmark Selected
Text" macro).

Nisus Writer is a superb word processor with powerful capabilities, but...

I have been bothered by the way that Nisus Writer generates indexes. It
lists every single page on which a marked item occurs. This leads to the
creation of indexes with entries such as:

Dogs...1,2,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,30,31,32,100,101,102

I have written a macro to collapse such entries according to the method
prescribed by the 13th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style, section
8.67. For example, the entry above would be rendered:

Dogs...1-2,7-15,30-32,100-102

(The full method is actually more complex than this, and I have fully
implemented it).

Along with that macro, I've developed some others to facilitate creating
indexes. Perhaps the most useful ones are for marking proper names for
indexing. If, for example, you have the names "Alfred E. Neuman," "Billy
Bob Smith," and "Wild Bill Hickock," simply select all these names and run
a macro to mark each for the index as follows:

Neuman, Alfred E.
Smith, Billy Bob
Hickock, Wild Bill

When you've downloaded the macro, double-click on the macro file to load
it, then run the "About Indexing Macros" macro for further details on what
these macros do and how to use them.

 <title> NoReturn 1.1
 (no-return-11.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/16397</link>
<description>NoReturn is a droplet that converts unix return chars (0x0A) to Mac
returns (0x0D). It's very useful for converting text files downloaded
from Unix systems and it's much faster than large text processing
applications for this purpose. The programme is designed for speed, the
only concession to aesthetics being the provision of a progress bar. To
use NoReturn, simply drop a file (or files) on the NoReturn icon. If you
click the abort button, hit the escape key or command-dot while a file is
being processed, the file will be left untouched. Double clicking the
NoReturn icon gets you the Standard File open dialog, which you can use
to select a file for processing.

NoReturn 1.1 is Freeware, must be distributed unaltered and must not be
distributed for profit without prior arrangement with the author.

What's new in 1.1:

Fixed a bug which would prevent NoReturn from quitting in certain
circumstances. &lt;blush&gt;

Provided an abort button and functionality to respond to escape key and
command-dot hits. This costs about 2 seconds when processing a 1 meg file
on my 7200/120.

 <title> Angry Face Cursor v1.04
 (angry-face-cursor-104.hqx)</title>
 <link>http://www.applefritter.com/node/12958</link>
 <description>Angry Face Cursor v1.04

This is my fourth attempt for making shareware. This will replace your normal
boring black cursor with this nice icon of an angry face. I hope you like these
cursors I am making and have made in the past.

This should be compatible with any Mac, I have tested it on a variety of
different macs like Power Mac 5200, 5260 and also on LC 575-580's. A couple of
my friends have also tried it on their machines. If you come accross any problems
hust let me know at FurnessS@northcentral.k12.ia.us

Disclaimer: If anything is to happen to your Mac while you are using
thisŠwellŠtoo badŠbecuase you cannot blame me. You use this at your own risk. I
have not had any problems with it, so I doubt that you will either.

This is $3 shareware, I don't think that is too much to ask, I am going to need
every little dollar to keep making stuffŠŠŠif you feel generous you may pay more
but I ask that you atleast please send the $3. You can send it to:

Sylvan J. Furness 409 Main Street, P.O. Box 51 Hanlontown, Iowa 50444

The only reason I am putting a little fee on this piece of software is because it
took alot of time to make.
