Powermac G4 : Help needed with PSU

Tried the ATX modification, as I suspect a bad PSU, without much success. I have tried to modify 3 PCs power unit and each time, shorting Pins 11 and 12 on the MDD pinout would not fire the fan. And yet, shorting the green and black wires on the ATX pinout works, before the conversion !
Could it be the MDD adapter itself ? Thnks

128K Mac Logic Board Repairs

I have had some success replacing bad RAM chips in 128K logic boards after identifying the bad chips using information in "Dead Mac Scrolls" . I have several more defective boards and need help in identifying the bad components. One displays a Sad Mac Code '040015'. I cannot find this code in any of the material I have. Does anyone know what component(s) this code indicates is bad?

Macintosh 128k problems

Heeeeelp!!!!!! Strange black lines partially blocking sadmac!!!!
When I first got it, there was a sadmac with the error code 048545
I then proceeded to remove the ram chips and installed ic sockets.
I must have messed something else up because after replacing all the ram chips
This is the screen that appeared:

I've checked the continuity between all the ram chips. All my solder joints are good
I then changed the ROM chips with known functioning ones. Still no luck
Anyone have any suggestions????
Thanks...

Laserwriter Pro reduce fulll page with to 1/2 page

I have an Apple Laserwriter Pro 630 which continues to print well. It
just won't die.

In the last couple of days It begin shrink the print width to about
1/2 page even though it shows full width in the chooser. The complete
document is printed at the 1/2 width. It also prints out the standard
start up page in 1/2 width.

I have deleted and reinstalled the printer. Shut down and restarted
the printer and computer. I have tried the print page button.
Nothing happens and the button does not appear to move when pressed.

I am using it on the latest version of Leopard on a MacBook Pro.

Anybody have any suggestions for a fix?

Apple II clone power supply repair

I have replaced some of the capacitors on a power supply that I have that has come out of an Apple II clone (MICRO II) but I want to test it before I reconnect it to the board. The problem is that the +12v was actually putting out (if I remember correctly) over 15 volts. All of the other power leads are in range.

iBook G3 14" Parts and Repair

I'm needing a bit of assistance. I bought an iBook G3 14" system, and I'm trying to find a few different parts for repair.

One major one is the hard drive, what type of drive goes in it. I'm thinking most likely PATA but what's the maximum size?
Secondly, the bottom plastic panel, the battery locking clip is broken. Is it an easy replacement?

Bad RAM Upgrade for 2007 Aluminum iMac?

I brought home a Crucial PC2-6400 SO-DIMM 4GB kit from Microcenter today. I popped out my pair of 1GB sticks of PC2-5300 from my 2007 2.4 GHz Aluminum iMac, popped in the new RAM, and turned it on. I heard the fan and drive spin up, but that was it. The screen stayed black and the boot chime never sounded. In fact, the machine made no sound from the speakers at all...
