I don't understand why you didn't list all your
For Sale Items under one post?

Because I have more than 400 items to sell. (Though not all Mac related... probably 3/4 though)

No one will go through a list that large, so I made it one per item, in which case it's more likely for someone who is interested in that particular item to click on the ad and review the content.

Cheers

That is not really true.
We have had other Critters place 40 item's in one "For Sale" Thread.

Why not do 10 Treads with 40 item's each?

hello titang4ppc,

400 items in 400 single threads ???

The point that steven spots at is:
Many members here keep track with the 2 windows at the left side:
"active forum topics"
and
"new forum topics"
and
login just for short to get infos if some thread has started running about
a topic they are interested in.

At the other hand if someone is trying to resurect a old computer
and seeks for supporting information from the members here
- he trusts that the announceement of that new thread is at least visible for one or two days
in one of those left windows so that other members realise that inquiry for support and

when that topic scrolls of that windows because you flood that
lists by tossing dozends of new single sale postings
that is interpreted by several members as a kind of "spaming" the board...

bear in mind that after you tossed the title of that other thread off the list
its only visible after extended search in the forums list.

Finally some members might feel that you just only want all members to be forced to
read your sales announcements / or should we better say sale advertisings ?
only end be prevented from reading other new threads.... and don't think that to be polite...
17 new threads - each with one sigle sale only - within less than few hours .....
it's not only not polite....

it's also not intelligent....

The reason:
You also tossed off your own sales advertisement from the display in the left
windows of new forum topics and active forum topics and by that even also
shot them off from getting recognized....

maybe it's a sign of cleverness to think about the proposal steven politely made....
1 thread listing 10 to 15 items of grouped items of similar kind combined in one list
and 2 threads posting with in period of 2 days before launching the next 2 listings....

sincerely

Re: FS: EC. Quark QuarkXpress 3.32 (Open Box) (Mac 68k/PPC) ...

I won't elaborate on a large response.

My intentions were not to "SPAM" the board, the first sale item I put up was made on Jan 7 2017, the previous ad was made on Dec 16 2016, and prior to that it was Nov 19 2016. Clearly, it is visible that this particular section of the forum is not updated that often.

If I was merely putting up an advert stating I have 300 items for sale, I doubt that anyone would look even if they would find something of interest. My intentions was to separate the ads so "THAT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE TITLE", meaning the item for sale, than you would most likely click for more info. Pretty simple?
