What is a REPEATERRRR and a SCOOTER II?

So I just bought an Apple II Plus and it has a couple of unusual add-ins

The first one is the REPEATERRRR card that was attached to the keybord decoder and had a wire to pin 1 on the 74LS251 cip located below mthe Game I/O port. I tried to Google this card but didn't finda any thine useful. Ther is a company name in the top right corner that HOME and the letter O has a lighting bolt on it.

CP/M on the microsoft softcard

I have a question about CP/M usage and boot floppies on the Apple II using a microsoft softcard. I remember on other CP/M based systems there were commands to transfer the CP/M boot sector to any disk and make it bootable. I am unfamiliar with doing this on an APPLE II running CP/M. Can someone help me with this?

New to my Apple iie, stumped on ADTpro

Hello.

I've been working on my Apple iie, and I'm stuck on the transferring a disk part of ADTpro. I get the ADTpro PORSOS and serial transfer, it's all good there. I'm getting the Host Timeout error when I try to hit enter at the file name prompt to show the list of disks in my directory on the windows laptop.

2e motherboard with 1 Ohm over the 12V

Hi hi

Was testing a 2e yesterday. It booted but after a few seconds went down with the psu making worrying noises.

At first thought it was the PSU, so switched a working one on it, but only made same noises.

Then measured the V's of that one and compared them to the first one and all looks good.

So the 2e board itself...

Measured resistance over the power lines; - V's are good. +5 was just some 10 Ohm, but went high when i unplugged keyboard. Seems to be the light in there that makes the resistance low, bc it seems to be a an actual tiny lightbulb.

Apple IIe: switch floppies without restarting computer

Is it possible to stop currently loaded program and start a new one by switching out the floppy at runtime?

I'm using emu to load a tun of .dsk image files on an se card. When I select an image, nothing happens. But if I switch off in that state and switch on again then the program loads. However if I "eject" that image, select a different one and hit empty apple+ctl+reset then I just see apple][ logo and nothing happens.

So my question is, is it possible to load a new program/game without switching the computer off and on?

btw, I'm new to vintage apple computer world.

Testing Disk II without the computer

Has anyone ever tested a Disk II drive without the controller or computer?

I want to see if there are any electro-mechanical reasons the drive isn't spinning on machine powerup.  This is also to help diagnose slot, vs card vs drive problem.

Apple IIc monitor European vs USA

Hello,

I am looking for a green monochrome monitor for my Apple IIc. While searching I asked myself  a question:

since the IIc's composite output is PAL or NTSC depending on region, is there a similar difference in monitor?

In other words, would the US monitor work with European IIc (or vice-versa)?

I may lack a deeper understanding of PAL vs NTSC, which I understand define color coding, so I thought about asking smarter people.

Apple II+ Mystery Card

Recently acquired a 48K Apple II+ (tagged 8047) with genuine Apple dual-disk controller and an Apple II floppy drive.  It's cleaner than my Apple II (tagged 7847) that I've had since its birth.

It came with an card that appears to be a single drive controller, but testing reveals it doesn't.  The previous owner was vague about the card's function.  Behind the glare, next to the ribbon connector, it is imprinted "Symtec 82"

Interesting side note:  It will fit in the Apple II+ slot, but will NOT fit in the Apple II slot; it's just a bit too long.
