Disk Drive Single Flash

My disk drive was working fine this morning, but now it does not even spin.  The screen shows a sort of moving checkboard, but it goes to basic fine.

When I turn the computer off the disk drive light briefly flashes.  Otherwise nothing... is this more likely to be a broken drive, or a broken card?

Apple ][+ running in Unreal Engine

Hi all, this forum has been invaluable for helping me work through the intricacies of the Apple ][ hardware, so I wanted to share some of the output. This is an emulation of an Apple ][+ running inside the Unreal Engine in realtime.

Will it Chopift?

Mystery Apple II+ Peripheral card(s)

Howdy all:

So I recently acquired a bunch of Apple gear from an estate sale.  Some of the items were so clean they almost looked new.  Of course I don't know their functional status yet.

There are some cards here I just cant seem to identify or if they are marked, I can't seem to locate any information about them, such as manuals.  In addition, some (I have duplicates) may be up for sale once I have figured out what they are.  Pictures and information below.  Any information is welcome.  I'll share more as I explore more of the cards.

Looking for copy of Locksmith Version 6.0 disk utilites on 5.25 disk

Hello: I've looked on ebay and googled but can't seem to find a copy of this vintage software utility named Locksmith Version 6.0. It had excellent reviews online many decades ago for use in calibrating and testing the Apple II+ Disk II drives, etc. I'd love to get a copy of this vintage software to check out my four old Disk II drives and adjust speed if needed, since they were setting on a shelf in my cellar unused for 40 years.

Apple II+ Corrupted Video

Hi...

I have just become the owner of an Apple II+ out of Holland. Its in good physical condition except for what looks like a home built language card that is severely corroded. The language card was preventing even the motherboard from even powering up so I pulled it out. Then I got the power light but no beep. The video showed a screeen of mostly @ symbols and constantly rolled. Here is a snap:

I'm new here. I need help selecting cheap dot matrix printer for my newly re-furbished Apple II+ . What works. Must it be 9-pin?

Hello: I'm new to this group. I need help selecting cheap dot matrix printer for my newly re-furbished Apple II+ . What works. Must it be 9-pin? I have a 24-pin Epson ActionPrinter 5000+ and that one does not seem to work with my Apple II+. Sorry for the large subject line. I at first did not figure out how to type text into the body. I had to turn off the rich text feature.

Franklin ACE 1000 character ROM image?

Hello.  This is my first time posting, although I've been browsing the forums for a few years.

I'm resurrecting a Franklin ACE 1000.  All of the EPROMs appear to be okay, with the exception of the character generator ROM.

It appears to be a "Power Case" ROM, burned onto a white '97 Intel C2716.  It appears to be dying with random bit flips.

I've found exactly one reference to this ROM, and no extant dumps.  Would anyone happen to have an image of this?

MCL65+ 6502 Drop-In CPU Accelerator for Apple II

Hi,

I thought I would share one of my recent projects, the MCL65+,  which is a drop-in 6502 CPU replacement board which can run either cycle accurate or in an accelerated mode. It uses a Teensy 4.1 microcontrtoller board which is similar to an Arduino, except much faster (600Mhz).

The MCL65+ PCB contains the Teensy and the required voltage-level buffers using through-hole logic to make it inexpensive and easy to produce.

Apple IIe Platinum motherboard recap?

Hi

I've just recapped the PSU on my Apple IIe platinum and I was wondering if I should also replace the axial caps on the motherboard? If so where can I get them at a good price since they are very hard to find and not cheap.

Thanks

Paulo

Possessed ][+ Mainboard

Here's an anecdote to take to the bank. I have a Rev D ][+ board that was previously damaged and malfunctioned. A while back, I restored it, tested it, did a full burn in, RAM tests, the lot, and it passed them all. I put it into a static bag and put it on a shelf.
