Apple II

Apple II plus Update with apple works.

So after messing around. I got an Applied Engineering 80 column card. Took me a sec. to find the correct apple works modifier program disk from AE. Got it booted and for a split sec. (I could enter the date.) it was loaded. Then is crashed. Also said I only had 10k available too. It crashed because I was using a vsdrive and running programs is a pain. Still saving up for a floppy emu and disks. Also another drive. Yes, I know the in place floppy sd card will work fine. Just something fun about using diskettes.

Apple IIe random vertical lines and no beep

Hi!  I recently got an Enhanced IIe from someone who was getting rid of it and I've been trying to coax it back to life.  I have had a II+ for years and, except for a power supply failure, it's been rock solid.

Anyway. the IIe had a blown power supply, so I tempoararily swapped in good (ReActiveMicro) one from my old Apple II+.  On first powerup I get a blank screen with no beep.  Turn it off and back on and I get random vertical lines.  I say random because I can turn it off and on again and get another variation on those lines.  Here's a picture:

Apple //c Powers on but not usable

Hello, I Recently got a new-to-me Apple //c but upon powering it on it displays a garble of flashing characters.  I've already re-seated the IOU, MMU, CPU and MON, as well as the Power Supply and Character Generator.  I've attached pictures of the monitor as well as the components.  Everything is in really good condition and I've confirmed that the external Power Supply and Monitor are working on another system.  Looking for advice before proceding.

MPC AP-SIO info?

I acquired an Apple IIe  enhanced and it came with an MPC AP-SIO card installed. It has a DB-25 connector on the other end of the ribbon cable. It looks like a clone serial card. I can find reference in on-line copies of Byte magazine and google books to the IBM-SIO card and to other MPC cards but not this one. Anyone familiar  with these? Anyone know the dip settings?

Thanks.

Early IIe

Bought this today.  I am wondering if anyone else out there has an early (sub-5000) IIe for comparison purposes.  I'm very curious about the story behind the serial numbers.   The serial on mine is 'A2S2-1320'.   As we all know, A2S2 is the prefix for the II+.  I'm curious if someone messed up in the beginning.  Did they simply add a 1 to the prefix (1A2S2) as a quickie fix for that mistake?  I'm assuming they wouldn't have intended to have two Apple IIs with the same serial number.

hello all and a plea for help on a II Europlus :)

Hello all.

Finally got myslef a Europlus.

After replacing D1 to sort out the image shimmer and all the 4116's I finally got a screen up and was in basic.

Testing GR and HG I was getting parrael white lines instead of colour.

Now this is where I did a stupid moment. I pulled the LS02 from the far right of row B, but in a moment of blindness inserted it upside down.
