Ascii or even asterisk art?

Back in they day I know about ascii art or even art with asterisk on a type writter. I was thinking hey. i got a Apple II plus with a oki 82a dot matrix printer. I should be able to print something up. But I can't find anything really related to it. Thiking a simple basic program or something. But all I can find is old minicomputers and mainframe data. Though, I'm not a programmer so I can't really convert it. But if somebody could point me in the correct direction. On a side note. I can hook up the printer to my windezs 10 machine and print using the generic / text printer driver too.

sharing "new" software

Hello, after being away from Apple ][ for 35 years I have polished off the game I wrote in the 1980's and got it working on emulators.  Anyone have advice on where to post disk images so people might actually find them?  They are on my github already, I wondered about existence of something more discoverable.  I see there is this asimov directory, but not sure what their policies are, or even how to contact.  This software is intended to be completely free.

Thanks!

Dan Gordon

Chipset for Apple //

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well.  Just wanted to share something that I have never seen before (and I have been collecting for many years!!).  Last week I was contacted by an older man who is moving and needed to get rid of all of his Apple stuff.  We got some cool stuff including a complete working Apple //GS system and all of the manuals.  We also got the stuff below in one of the various misc boxes.

Mouse Interface card

I got a IIe Mouse Interface Card with a missing dongle.

These were soldered to the board with a DIL-10 connector and a 10 conductor ribbon cable with a DB-9 connector for the mouse.

And the ribbon cable was removed (rather forcefully, I think)

Anyway, if anyone has a schematic (I know they're hard to come by - I've been looking but Apple didn't relelase schematics willingly for this card) I sure would appreciate it so that I can repair this with a new ribbon cable and DB-9 connector.

Apple II card and device question.

Hello all. I just got an Apple 2 europlus. I never had one. What I don't know is what the following card and device is. If you can help me I will appreciate it. The card is connected with one more mod card that is behind the keyboard. Cables goes to 3 sockets. Rom / ram / and keyboard socket .

The other device is a box socketed directly to game port socket.

I upload pictures in Dropbox. Sorry that I didn't use the media browser but I am from smartphone and it is very difficult.

Here are the photos:

IIe card ID

I'm starting to thin out the herd a bit and have been going through some boxes of computer items and I found a card that was in slot 3 of my IIe when I purchased it and I never could figure out what exactly the card is for. I've tried looking around online and the most similar thing I could find to it was a disk controller card but I don't think that's what this is. A search of the info on the sticker didn't turn anything up either. Any ideas would be great.

Toolkit for Applesoft BASIC

Hello everyone,

I'm an Apple IIc owner and I would like to port a little BASIC project to the Apple II platform (so far I've done Commodore 64, Commodore VIC-20, Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Sinclair ZX81 versions).

My goal is to work on Microsoft Windows, test the code in an emulator (AppleWin), and when ready, trasfer the program to a 5,25" floppy disk and to the actual hardware.

IIe Boots to System Diagnostic

I have a IIe which always boots to the system diagnostic (garbage screen followed by "System OK"), no beep.  My understanding is that this is traditionally caused by either a bad keyboard connection or a stuck key.  However, I've tried:
