Euro IIe PSU - Options/-12v?

As detailed in another thread I have a euro IIe which had a RAM failure and also has a burned transformer in the PSU, so I need a new PSU. I like the look of the Reactive Micro one but the price is a bit high and the shipping to UK is almost the same again so that's out.

I've done some research and it looks like the IIe doesn't use the -12V rail at all unless a Unidisk is connected - is this true (I have a spare Mac LC II PSU that does +-5v and +12v and would be a great fit if so...)?

Mystery card with two 16-pin connectors

This unlabeled board for an Apple II computer is one I'm curious about and haven’t been able to identify.  It has a 16-pin connector at the front and another at the back that I don’t understand the purpose of.  The only manufacturer marking I can find is the number “252” at the bottom edge.  Some of the chips have 1982 date codes.  I dimly recall picking it up for $5 at a computer store clearance sale decades ago because it reminded me of my Synetix 294KB SSD (solid state drive) card for the Apple II Plus.  That was because of its shape and the large number of chips, with

Success - Apple II+ clone lives

Hi folks,

I just wanted to share my excitement and joy at the successful restoration of an Apple II+ clone.

It seems to be working well now.  Nothing really magical at the restoration.  Cleaned it up, retro-brighted the keys and pulled all ICs and de-oxed the sockets.

That last step seems to be a big help with video issues the machine originally had.

Cheers,

Mark

Apple IIgs ROM 03 system bad error

I have two ROM 03 Apple IIgs systems that gives  error "SYSTEM BAD 06010000" When I run the built in Diagnostics. From what I looked up it seems to be an issue with the built in SERIAL IC on the main board. Is that correct or is the issue something else? IF I disable the modem port in the control panel and add a super serial card will the system work as intended sans the on-board serial components? Would that create a functioning machine?

IIe - Crashes After Power On

I've recently acquired a PAL IIe with Disk II card and extended 80 column card and for an hour after arrival it was working fine including a self test, writing floppies with ADTPro, etc - it then froze when running ADTPro and hasn't worked since. A list of what I have done so far:

1. Power cycle after initial freeze (didn't respond to soft reset) resulted in a white screen, no beep.

2. Removal of 80 column and Disk II card resulted in beep and command prompt, froze shortly afterwards. Reboot results in screen of garbage.

help with keyboard problem

So I have a II+ and the keyboard was mostly working but there were a few keys that would either not work, repeat, or just occasional work.

I dripped a few drops of deoxit down the plungers and all the keys that were not working started working. Next I recapped the power supply and the computer boots but none of the keys are working but the power light is working on the keyboard.

Where should I start troubleshooting ? Keboard encorder or system board?

What should I be looking for?

My //c is back and I want to keep it that way!!!!

To recap:  The voltage regulator on my //c died and fried the fuses in both the PSU and the motherboard.   I spent about a month or so trying to trace the faults, found several, but not all.  So I replaced the regulator!  So now my //c is back and running!!! :-D

M&R Enterprises Sup'R'Terminal 80 column card

Hello,

I have an Apple II M&R Enterprises Sup'R'Terminal 80 col card which doesn't work. I type pr#3 and there is no output signal to the monitor (lcd).

I have checked the eprom and 6845 crtc chip which are fine. Does anyone have any schematics that I could use to trace through the circuits ?

The 2114 ram is also fine.

Thanks

Andy
