Apple IIe Color Monitor issues

Some time ago, I acquired six Apple color monitors of the AppleColor Composite Monitor IIe and Color Monitor IIe varieties.

Of them, two work well, two have completely desaturated images, and two have failed motherboards (one trips the circuit breaker when it's turned on, the other just shuts off shortly after turning it on).

In any case, I'm hunting for resources to take a shot at repairing these.  Are there any available schematics?  I'm not having any luck finding anything...

Apple IIe spacebar

Could someone walk me through the steps of putting a spacebar on a IIe? I am confused as to the metal bar, do you thread it through the holes in the black tabs in the space bar first, then try to put the spacebar in (seems too easy to drop the metal bar into the case, difficult to snap it in place), or do you snap the metal bar into the keyboard then try to thread it through the holes in the black tabs (can't see anything)?

Applesoft ROM Card vs. Apple Language Card

I am resurrecting my Apple II (A2S1-9214) from late 1978.  I used it extensively and cut my code writing teeth on it in the early 1980s, but it has been dormant since then.

It Boots into Monitor; Ctrl-G gives me Integer Basic (I replaced the F0 ROM); C600G starts the 3.3 System disk.  I can load and run Integer programs from there. The problem is the Applesoft (FP) ROM card has gone dead.  I pulled all the chips; deox'd them; seated everything; and all I get upon boot is a totally blank white screen and a hung system.

Apple 2 Plus Power Supply Clicking [HELP]

I have been reading for some time now about why this happens. I have found no resistors that could be suspect. I have replaced the capacitor with the one they have suggested. When I power it on without any load it makes a chirping noise. IS there a way to fix this? I can send Pictures if needed. I found the old apple and wanted to fix it but the powersupply went boom and smoked when I tried to power it up. I replaced the RIFA cap that exploded. I ahve a AA11040B model powersupply. I attempted to measure the power supply voltages but they were way off!

2513 char gen / 2716 eprom adapter issues

Hi, I have a II+ rev. 4 with a Swedish 2513 character generator that I want to replace with an English character ROM. I've built a little adapter board so I can use 2716 EPROMs (or actually 28C16 EEPROMs), using this PCB as a template: https://oshpark.com/profiles/Benchoff

Everything works fine except the first column of pixels is always black:

IIgs mono text mode?

I have a Rom 01 IIgs which has been working fine.  But all of a sudden, the initial text mode is only showing up in monochrome over composite.  I have it set to blue but I only see gray.  I tried going back into the control panel and switch the colors but it is only monochrome.  I also tried unplugging the battery and going back to defaults but no change.

Weird thing is that games are still working in color.  Conan, Arkanoid 2, even GSOS still show up in color.

Any idea where I should start looking?

Thanks!

Tim

Cabling for Franklin 80-column card?

Hello,

I've managed to get my Franklin to the point where it can boot off of the FloppyEmu (which required modification of the video circuit; I'll write that up at some point).  Now it's time to get all of the peripheral cards working.

Apple II,II+, IIe SD card floppy or HDD emulator cards

All:

I am looking for opinions on what people feel are the better SD card and/or USB drive storage solutions for Apple II, II+, IIe.  I found the CFFA3000 online but it looks like that is out of production for now.  (If schematic is open source I would love to have a copy as I have several empty proto-boards).

I am more looking for DIY versions vs off the shelf.

Any input of your opinion or experiences is most welcome.

Thanks,

Mark

Apple //c Blown fuses.

So My //c just up and quit on me a few weeks ago.  Would have gotten to it sooner, but I had to replace my multimeter.  However, now that I have one again, I was able to trace at least part of the issue to a partially blown fuse in the power supply.  It's not completely blown, as I do get some continuity across it, but there's a lot of resistance and it was only putting out about 0.2 volts.
