Games without Joysticks?

Hi to All,

Being able to create original disks from images is a superb concept, but without user guides for games, I would like to know if it is possible to play them without a joystick but with the keyboard? I realise for most games this would not be ideal but I have not got around to buying a joystick yet!

Thanks,

Richard.

DB-19 Connectors

Hi Guys,

Anyone know where I can buy a DB-19 male connector in the UK?

I've tried a few of the bigger suppliers but no luck.

I need this to make a cable to connect a duodisk to my IIe.

Cheers.

apple ][ (europlus) no characters. beep ok, but only white square no promt.no message

hello
i try to repair an apple ][ europlus.
power supply is ok.
almost all TTL chips new.

if i start up, it beeps once.
but no message shows. no characters at all. only a white square where the cursor should be
i can hit return or any key and the square moves as it should.
also i can type in (blind) a simple programm (forx example 10 print,20 goto 10 ) and run it then the square disapears.
and if i press control c. it returns.

so basic interpreter is working. just no character.

Taxan RGB Card

Hi,

As an RGB output is an improvement on composite video, is it possible to connect a Taxan RGB card through a scart socket or is a different type of monitor required?

Thanks,

Richard.

Completely non-powering up Apple II, where to start?

I have an Apple II Plus that does absolutely nothing when the power switch is flipped. However, the power supply itself is good, as I was able to hook it up to another motherboard and it powered it just fine.

But from the problematic II Plus I get no beep, no video, not even the power indicator light on the keyboard comes on...completely dead.

I've tried fiddling with the connector between the power supply and motherboard to no effect, and have tried reseating the ICs to no avail.

Looking for Applesoft BASIC "Star Trek" game on DSK image

Does anyone know where I can get the old Star Trek game for Applesoft BASIC (not Integer BASIC!) as a disk image?

I have the BASIC source code from http://www.dunnington.u-net.com/public/startrek/StarTrek3.3 , but that version does not include the machine code routines called by the BASIC program (perhaps for graphics or sound effects or things like that). I'm doing a port of the game, so I'd really like to find out what that machine code does.

Delete key that doesn't and mysterious switch....

Hi,

Here's one for you.....

I have just got two apple IIe's recently (one UK and one US) and both seem to have delete key issues!

When I press the key, instead of deleting the character, it just displays another cursor on the line. Even if I backspace over characters it still just prints another cursor!

Any ideas?

Also, on the UK model, on the unerside of the case at the keyboard end there os a two position rocker switch.

What does this do?

Thanks in advance,

Richard.
