Alternative to the Mockingboard v1 for Apple II volume control?

Hi gang, I was recently thinking about buying one of ReactiveMicro's Mockingboard v1a sound cards, but alas I debated too long and their online store is now closed.

Is there another source for these cards? I saw that Tom Arnold was responsible for the v1a design...can boards be ordered from him directly?

The main reason I want one is for the enhanced sound capabilities, but I also really like the idea of having volume control over my IIe via external speakers.

Are there other reputable currently-made boards that do the same "volume control" thing?

Might be thinking this is weird when it isn't

as i said in the title this might be normal i don't know, but when ive run Catakig or Virtual][ on my macbook using the IIe options the emulated screen comes up with Apple //e at the top before loading from .dsk. However i noticed today (can't think why i didnt notice before) that on booting my actual IIe that it just displays 'Apple ][' the motherboad has Apple IIe P.A.L 1984 on it, just thought its a bit strange and maybe somebody knows exactly why it's like that.

ADTpro and Apple Super Serial Card

Hi, not particularly a problem just wondering if anybody else has this. I am running the ADTpro bootstrapping process with my IIe and super serial card, now the ADTpro page says that the SSC should show a prompt "APPLE SSC:" after hitting crtl-a, mind doesn't nothing happens but if i press return and syntax error doesn't attack me then all is good and everything sends. Just wondering if anybody else doesn't see the APPLE SSC prompt?

Apple II europlus memory problems

Folks, having fixed my machine by replacing row C with new memory chips I decided to try and figure out which chips out of all of the onces I extracted were bad. I have done this by dropping a selection of the previously extracted chips into row D and then running a memory test. The test fails as soon as it hits 16,384 (row C only) and the chips in row D start to get very hot. Tried different chips, same problem, same heat.
