Flat screen TV compatability

I recently purchased a flat screen TV with a composite input for use with my retro Apple Computers only to find it does not work with the Apple composite. I have a Sharp 32" that works just fine with the Apple but the 19" Insigna that came from Best Buy does not work. Specificity it is a Insignia NS-19E450A11. I have 2 TVs (Sharp and Insigna) a Blue Ray player and an Apple IIc. Both TVs work with the Blue Ray using the composite output from the player but only one TV works with the Apple IIc. All the equipment/cables checks out with other equipment. There must be an incompatibility between the Apple and the Insignia. Insignia does not give specifics on its input signal requirements.
Has anyone had similar issues with specific models of TVs that do not work with the old composite video?

The NTSC signal that the Apple II generates is not technically correct. Old television sets with analog synchronization logic could lock on to it OK. Newer sets with digital logic have a tougher time.
