Amongst a number of Asanté NICs and adapters I have an AsantéFAST P/N 09-00096-11 REV.B card. The locator slot at the bottom of the card's metal fascia plate is shorter (3mm) than standard (5mm?). This appears to be an exclusion mechanism. Which Mac models is the card intended for? Can older Macs (eg, a Q950) support such cards if the mating locator moulded into the case is shortened? Is the design in any way related to the fabled NuBus 90?

I'm not sure I understand you

I'm not sure I understand your description, but are you sure it isn't a PDS card?

Perhaps you could post a picture?
