Cleaning out the basement i came across an apple II board that has never been used. It was in the box with the original letter for the last 2 decades - purchased from a supplier in New York.

The back of the board has wires! (that is what revision meant in those days)

We recently got a couple of powerbook 3400's from the dumpster. After a bit of work we ended up with some spare parts and a working machine:

6 gig hard disk
CD rom
80 mb ram

Took delivery of a skidload of apple stuff just before xmas as i knew i would have some time then. Fixed up the imacs and B & W's to dispose off and broke up most of the other stuff into the parts bins. Did get some nice old bits, including some machines i have not owned before like an 8550 (appleshare file server) an 8500 MP, a 5300 and two 3400 powerbooks, which should prove interesting.

Rescued before it went to the curb - guy said it didn't 'work' with XP. A most excellent printer with parallel to hook to the HP printer server, ethernet for the Appleshare IP network and localtalk for the old machines...although i can bring up the localtalk bridge when necessary...

Been wanting to build a dual MP mac for some time but 9600's have been hard to come by, even offered $40 for one!

First a little history. Apple came out with their version of UNIX, called A/UX, in 1988. A/UX was based on AT&T UNIX System V and BSD4.2/4.3, with a wide spectrum of features (STREAMS, TCP/IP, FFS, job control, NFS with YP, SCCS, printing, X Window Sys and so on).
