Pook/ Choosy - help!

Hi

In story mode, when playing Choosy I lost the game (d'oh!). But, I went straight on to the 'bonus' game, and couldn't go back to Choosy. I've now completed the game (with the two MMC bots and everything) - **except** for the choosy game type and Pook.

I've tried to do get it again legit, and the same thing (me losing but the game continuing) happened - what's going on? Is there any way without cheating to get around the problem (and I'm not dead keen on having to start story mode again, especially if I retain my losing streak on choosy, unless I know that I'll be able to replay choosy...)
